\ Library JournalThis book offers the first English translations of work by Nirenstein, the Jerusalem-based correspondent for the newspaper La Stampa and the magazine Panorama in Italy. Part 1 addresses the new anti-Semitism, which Nirenstein regards as anti-Semitism from people and nations with liberal sensibilities. Her focus includes the UN, the Western media, the failure of the Camp David accords, and the influence of the fundamentalists. The second half of the book, titled "Intifada Two," offers revised versions of her previous articles and focuses mainly on issues in Israel, including terrorism, suicide bombers, Arafat and Israeli politicians, and Arab Holocaust denial. The author has a talent for timely and cogently argued essays, written in the heat of the moment-which is both the strength and the weakness of this book. Some readers will feel that pieces on particular politicians-like Ariel Sharon-often seem dated. Because it is very focused on specific news events, the book does not provide an overview of modern anti-Semitism and its causes, which many American readers may be seeking. Alan Dershowitz's The Case for Israel is easier going for the informed lay reader, and Anti-Semitism: A Historical Encyclopedia of Prejudice and Persecution, edited by Richard S.
