\ Children's Literature\ - Sheryl O'Sullivan\ Part of the "People to Know Today Series" which includes titles on such people as Dr. Phil, Walt Disney, J.K. Rowling, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, this book is a positive but truthful portrayal of this business giant. Ten chapters take the reader through Walton's early life and initial business setbacks, to his later phenomenal success in business and eventual death to cancer. There are lots of sidebars dealing with such human interest themes as Walton's family, his charitable activities, and small but interesting events in his life. Sidebars also contain general information about the concept of dime stores, which may be an unknown idea for today's readers. Photographs are used extensively throughout to supplement the text. Several research aids, such as a chronology of Walton's life, chapter notes, additional resources, and an index are all well-organized and appropriate for the age of the intended reader. Fifth grade students studying U.S. history may find this book particularly helpful. Reviewer: Sheryl O'Sullivan\ \
