Librarians need people skills as they work with many different kinds of people every day. They must be able to teach patrons various skills, such as how to use a computer. The section explaining a librarian's day shows the various skills needed. Included in this book are a glossary, web information and an index. An uncluttered layout and consistent organization are pluses, but vapid computer-generated cartoon illustrations make the characters look as though they forgot to take their vitamins. Chapter headings such as “Problems on the Job,” “Technology at Work,” and “Special Skills and Training” make it easy to pinpoint specific information. “A Day As…” and “Did You Know?” sections and frequent sidebars add useful supplemental information to each volume.\ \
