The authors strive to convey the experiences of dying in inner-city poverty through a series of interviews with individuals facing death and dying.Audience:This book is useful to any healthcare professional as well as to social workers and professionals dealing with death and dying.Features:The material presented is the result of three research initiatives, funded by various institutes, in which focus groups, longitudinal studies, and home visits were completed. Assessment:Although the book offers an insightful glimpse into the life of the dying of the inner-city poor, the book fails to offer recommendations to correct this situation. The book could be enhanced by inclusion of the services of hospice as well as psychological services.
